Deputy PM attends Somali Farmer’s Day

Mogadishu, The Acting Prime Minister, who is the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama attended the World Food Day and Somali Farmers Day organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Somalia has more than 8 million hectares that are ready to be planted, and many more can be prepared to be planted so that our country can survive the food shortage that the world is facing.

 

The Acting Prime Minister said that the Government is working hard to support the farmers and to support them with agricultural equipment and the health of several agricultural crops which were recently destroyed by terrorists so that farmers can strengthen the production of the country.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister has called on the Somali community that has the economy to invest in the vast land that is ready to be planted which can lead us to manage the food we import from the world and now some countries have reduced their export to protect their people from food shortages.

 

Somali farmers presented the products of the country at the forum where the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the different crops grown in the country and encouraged them to increase the production of the country.

 

Finally, the Deputy Prime Minister reminded the Somali community to support the operations of the armed forces and the local community that cooperates in eradicating the terrorists who stand in the way of the development of the country, and the ones stand in the way of the development of the country’s production.
