OIC Renews its Commitment to Supporting the Republic of Mali

Ambassador Youssef bin Mohammed Al-Dubaie, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) took part in the third meeting of the Transition Support Group in Mali, held in Lomé, Togo, on September 6, 2022, at the joint invitation of the Government of the Republic of Togo and the African Union (AU).

This important meeting was designed to take stock of the political, security, humanitarian, social and economic developments in Mali, to evaluate the initiatives of the States member of the Transition Support Group, as well as to mobilize and coordinate joint political, strategic, financial and technical support for the ongoing transition process in Mali.

On this occasion, Ambassador Youssef Al-Dubaie delivered a statement on behalf of the OIC Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, in which he reaffirmed the commitment of the OIC to provide political support to the Republic of Mali and to work toward mobilizing the Member States and the organs of the OIC to support Mali in this crucial transitional period.

On the sidelines of this meeting, Ambassador Youssef Al-Dubaie met with Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security. The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two organizations and exchanged views on issues of common concern.
