PM Abiy Extends Christmas Messages to Ethiopians

Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his Christmas message to all Ethiopians.

In his Christmas message, Prime Minister Abiy said we cannot transform our country through ordinary way and solutions that all could understand.

Noting that two contrasting wonders simultaneously happened at the birth of Jesus Christ, Abiy said the expected one came in an unprecedented manner and the unexpected ones were found in the unexpected place.

Things that change the history of the world and the country may not come in the normal and expected ways, he said, adding they may not happen in the way that many understand and analyze.

This level of understanding is achieved if we are prepared to accept that there may be ways and understanding that we do not know, have not mastered and cannot imagine, Abiy added.

The premier elaborated that if we expect things to come the way we know, imagine and are used to, they can merely pass away.

‘When we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we should continue to consider t
he way the world has changed and evaluate the way we are going,’ he underscored.

Ethiopia follows the Julian calendar and celebrates Christmas on January 7th, while the rest of the world, who follows the Gregorian calendar, celebrates on 25th of December.
