Mogadishu, The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a meeting at the National Presidency with Brigadier General Ibrahim Jabir Ibrahim from the Supreme Council of the Republic of Sudan.
The President received a message from the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Sudan Mr. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, and was brought by General Ibrahim regarding the relationship between the two countries and the promotion of regional cooperation. The Chairman praised the government and the Somali people for the measures they have taken for peace, development and solidarity.
The Government of Sudan, which is currently the Chairman of the Regional Organization for the Development of East African Countries in IGAD, is supporting the joint operations of the Somali people and the army to liberate the areas where people are being harassed by terrorists, pointing out the good role they have played in the reconstruction of the Somali Armed Forces.
The President thanked the delegation for the valuable visit to their brothers in Somalia, and informed them of the significant achievements in the war against terrorism and how the Somali government welcomes the brotherly and friendly countries that are helping the region, tolerance of terrorism cripples stability and development.
