Zamzam foundation in Somalia donates 50,000 US Dollars to help earthquake victims in Turkey

Mogadishu Zamzam foundation in Somalia donated 50,000 US dollars to help the earthquake victims in Turkey through its embassy here in Mogadishu after devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria last week that left about 40,000 dead and others injured.

Chairperson of Zamzam Foundation, Shuaib Abdulatif said that the support aimed at expressing solidarity with the people of Turkey during the difficult time in which they are facing at moment.

He said that the foundation organized large rallies at their university and school branches in Mogadishu where religious scholars, teachers, students and other people attended by sharing condolences and praying for those killed in the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, saying that were also collecting donations for their brothers and sisters.

“Zamzam foundation paid a courtesy visit to Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu to express solidarity with Turkish people over the deadliest earthquake last week. We also handed over 50,000 US dollars to help victims of the earthquake. We held gatherings aimed at sharing our heartful Dua to both Turksih and Syrian brothers and sisters at this difficult time”, Shuaib said.

Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Ibrahim Mete Yagli thanked Zamzam foundation for their support.
